Deep ruby. Powerful aromas of cherry and raspberry liqueur are joined by vanilla and succulent herb nuances that build in the glass. Round, fleshy and appealingly sweet, offering juicy red fruit flavors that show very good depth as well as energy. The vanilla quality repeats on a long, smooth finish given shape by soft, even tannins. (JR)
The 2014 Moulin-à-Vent les Trois Roches was matured in 1- to 5-year-old half-tuns. Some attractive undergrowth/woodland scents permeate the dark berry fruit, a touch of cold black tea in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannin. There is appreciable depth and roundness here, with a soft and fleshy, but quite complex finish. This is an excellent Moulin-à-Vent from Pierre-Marie Chermette. (NM)
