A biodynamic estate certified by Biodyvin. With their old vines, quality organic viticulture, and modern winemaking, Domaine Guiberteau has quickly become a leading estate in the Loire's Saumur. The family has grown grapes in Saumur for more than 100 years, and for much of that time they provided the fruits of their labor to the local winemaking co-op. Current proprietor Romain Guiberteau is the third generation of vigneron since the family officially founded their own label, and their vines were planted by his father and grandfather just after World War II. According to importer Becky Wasserman, "Romain Guiberteau owns some of the best land in Brézé, and makes dry chenins of punk rock violence, yet of Bach-like logic and profoundness. He is creating quite a stir." How can that not pique your interest?
