This is the best ever from here. It’s from the owners of fabulous second growth Cos d’Estournel. Aromas of blueberries and sandalwood follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a fruity finish. Clean and pretty. Best after 2011.
The Goulee 2008 has a very tertiary bouquet with good intensity: autumnal and leafy, lots of sous-bois and green leaves. The palate is very sweet on the entry; fleshy and broad in the mouth with black cherries and boysenberry, leading to a fine pencil lead and tobacco-tinged finish. Very fine. Tasted January 2012. (NM)
...the soft plum and cherry fruit melds nicely with savory herb and tea notes on the rounded finish. (JM, Web-2011)
