The 2013 Super Substance Cabernet Sauvignon Stoneridge has a sexy profile (compared to the Merlot Stoneridge) and has amble black currants, licorice, graphite and spice to go with medium to full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannin, solid mid-palate concentration and a great finish. Like all of the wines here, the winemaking is impeccable and while this can be enjoyed in its youth, it will have 15+ years of longevity as well. (JD)
Being 100% varietal, the aromas of black currant, boysenberry, graphite and cherry are piercing and pure. The palate puts and emphasis on texture, showing layers of lightly jammy dark fruit flavors that pique the interest, with a long finish only upping the enjoyment. (SS)
(13.5% alcohol): Dark red. Good spicy lift to the aromas of dark berries and redcurrant; comes across as more primary on the nose than the Jack's Vineyard Cabernet. This wine also conveys a lower-pH impression, showing excellent energy and spicy lift on the middle palate and long back end, which features smooth, fine-grained tannins. Higher-pitched than the Jack's Vineyard version, made from small clusters that yielded just 1.75 tons per acre in 2013, according to Leighton. (ST)
Ripe and rich, with dried cherry, mint and cardamom flavors that glow brightly against fine-grained tannins, finishing with polish. Drink now through 2020. (HS)
