A ripe, fresh and markedly earthy nose displays a hint of the sauvage that can also be found on the vibrant and well-detailed if lighter weight flavors that exhibit mild austerity on the acceptably persistent and complex finish.
The 2014 Fixin Village, from 40-year-old vines and matured in around 10% new wood, has a light, crisp red cherry scented bouquet. Simple...but effective. The palate is crisp on the entry, pleasing weight in the mouth, though I found it a little austere towards the finish. Drink over the next 2-3 years. (NM)
