*Cellar Selection* This is a tightly coiled wine, still firm and packed with tannins as well as fruit. It has a strong dry core that is lifted by the bright acidity. This is going to be a very complete wine, all the elements well in place. (RV)
The 2014 Olivier displays purity and focus. Graphite, smoke, plums and dark cherries are all laced together in an expressive, pliant wine endowed with terrific balance. All the elements fall into place. Naturally, the tannins need time to soften, but that should not be much of an issue here. (AG)
The ripe cassis character is augmented with a hint of toasty oak. The palate, meanwhile, is rich yet quite dry and elegant — particularly on the long, straight finish.
Fresh and nicely detailed, with a core of red currant and plum fruit showing purity and energy while notes of bay, iron and tobacco race along the edges. Should age nicely. Sneakily long. (JM)
