Attractive aromas of lemon cream and apples follow through to a medium body, a tight palate and a crisp finish. Drink now. Biodynamic grapes.
The 2014 Chardonnay Ribbon Ridge went through full malolactic. It has a clean and precise bouquet with impressive minerals, especially when you look at the price. (A bargain!) The palate is nicely balanced with a slightly waxy texture, notes of lime, freshly sliced pear and a touch of kiwi fruit. Proper length here, nicely posed and refreshing, this comes highly recommended. To repeat, this is a bargain for the price. (NM) I tasted most of Doug Tunnel's recent releases in January during my tasting in London. So when I dropped by, Doug poured the outstanding recent bottlings that I did not taste alongside some intriguing mature bottles. I will leave the notes to speak for themselves - these are very refined and natural wines with minimal intervention, not surfeit with fruit, but surfeit with personality, freshness and nuance...Brick House comes recommended, but hey, I've said that before.
