The Isarco River Valley is a river set where the Alps meet the Dolomites and in this valley some of Italy’s finest white wines are made. Kerner is the predominant variety here and although it doesn’t get much play as a grape in the rest of Italy once you taste it you’ll be a huge fan. The nose is striking almost tropical, there’s a haunting, inviting richness that beckons you to try. On the palate the wine has incredible weight but simultaneously buoyed by exceptional acidity and regularly makes a wine of 14% alcohol seem more like 12.5%. Long, balanced with that exceptional acidity the fruit follows through in the finish. Perfect for spicier dishes or if you’re looking for the weight and texture of Chardonnay (without the wood) Kerner is for you!
