The team at Ferraton makes two Côte Rôties, both of which are brilliant examples of the quality now coming from this estate. The slightly larger production cuvée is the 2015 Côte Rôtie l’Eglantine, which comes from schist soils and is aged in older barrels. It offers a perfumed, Asian spice, dried flower, graphite, and red and black fruit-driven bouquet, as well as full-bodied richness and ultra-fine tannin. The quality (and number of cuvées) from this estate continues to soar, and this is easily the finest lineup up of wines I’ve tasted from this team. (JD)
