Produced and bottled by Niepoort, this opaque purple-colored port is more backward and tannic than Niepoort's vintage wines. Impressively endowed, with a reticent, but promising nose of chocolate, blackberry fruit, truffles, and licorice, this full-bodied, massive, moderately sweet port should be cellared until 2000. It will age well for 20-30 years. Impressive! (RP)
