Quite rich and savoury - definitely not in the floral spectrum that I suspect some would expect of a Riesling. Bone dry - very much for the German market! Naked and unadorned. Pungent and well made but definitely for the converted? (JR)
The 2015 Riesling Trocken (named 'Just Riesling' in Germany) is based on the youngest vines of the domaine and reflects the purity and crystallinity of the Gut Hermannsberg terroirs, which are only located in grands crus. Provided with ripe apple flavors, this light to medium-bodied Riesling is dry, straight and piquant on the palate, very pure and stony. The finish is good and reveals nice grip, even a certain salinity and herbal spiciness. (SR)
