Bright straw. Apricot, orange oil and apple on the nose. Well structured but fresh thanks to a high-quality Pinot Blanc presence that adds notes of white stone fruit and beeswax to the Auxerrois’s honeyed spice contribution. Finishes clean and long. Pretty wine. A blend of 70 percent Auxerrois and 30 percent Pinot Blanc. About 9,000 bottles are made per year (from grapes grown in the Clos but also near Kientzheim at the bottom of the Altenbourg).
