K&L Notes

This wine flew off the shelves last year and again we only have a small allocation. This single vineyard wine is hand picked from Mount Edward’s Biogro certified organic Muirkirk vineyard on Felton Rd in Bannockburn. The fruit is whole bunch pressed on a gentle five hour cycle to pick up just a light pink hue and retain elegance. The wine is then fermented with wild yeast in stainless steel at ambient temperatures. This is a strictly dry, light, refreshing style that is the perfect aperitif. Aromas of rose petals, summer berries, baking spice and bramble. The palate is juicy with racy acidity and cleansing length. (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L NZ Wine Buyer)

The wine makers of Mount Edward focus their efforts on producing organic, single estate, small production wines that are reflective of the terroir in which they are grown. This attention to detail is evident in this lovely Rose of direct press Pinot Noir. The nose on this wine is incredible and smells like white roses, fresh nectarines and juicy watermelon. The palate is a little softer but still has such incredible, zippy acidity. This is an elegant Rose that truly showcases the best of what Central Otago has to offer.

Mount Edward brings it again with their killer rose! I've been waiting for this to come back in stock! Strawberry, melon, red cherry, citrus zest, and mineral with bright, zesty acidity. So, so drinkable! Grab a bottle, pull up a chair in the sun, kick off your shoes and toast the spring!
    Top Value!

It's always exciting to see the first of the rosés arriving from the southern hemisphere, and as usual, Mount Edward's Pinot Noir rosé is one of the standouts! This is made in a classic French style with very light color, pretty strawberry and cream notes and gorgeous cherry aromatics. Think Sancerre rosé, or classic Provence style with the added elegance and subtlety of Pinot Noir. Although you could pair this with lighter appetizers or veggie dishes, this drinks beautifully on its own.
