This grows at a vineyard on Highway 29 just north of Oakville Cross Road; it’s clone 7 cabernet planted in 1980 on sandy loam soils. The wine is relatively light in color and in its overall gracious impression, while still offering generous fruit richness in a fresh and friendly cabernet. Simple and elegant.
Lot of dried fruits and hints coffee bean. Full body, round tannins. Juicy fruit. Slightly rustic but will come around. Needs two or three years to soften. Drink in 2020.
