A pungent nose presently consists of sulfur and reductive notes so a thorough aeration is in order. Otherwise there is both excellent volume and density to the opulent and seductively textured medium weight flavors that exude both hints of minerality and bitter lemon on the lavish finish that is supported by just enough acidity to save the balance. This is really quite good as it offers fine complexity and, like the Charmes, should be approachable young but offer a few years of upside development potential. *Outstanding* Drink: 2021+
Bright, light yellow. Crushed stone and menthol on the nose, plus a floral nuance. Concentrated and thick but with its subtle pineapple fruit enlivened by stony minerality and brisk lemony acidity. Very ripe but fresh and muscular. This wine will need at least a couple years in bottle to soften and develop more complexity. The yield here was around 45 hectoliters per hectare, as in 2016.
