Hot damn, what a wine for ten bucks! Juicy and dusty with a fruit friendly profile, but a clear rusticity from the thicker-skinned Ribera del Duero tempranillo grapes that provide a heavier skin-to-juice ratio. There are few red wines in the store at ten dollars in this quality bracket. This is for people who wish zinfandel was lower in alcohol, or who want Beaujolais without the crunchy red fruits. This is a wine that delivers typicity and character for a true bargain.
