Vineyards on the hill of Corton are the source for this concentrated wine. The 30-year-old vines give density while also providing great fruit and juiciness. It is an impressive wine, richly endowed with black fruits and layers of dark tannins. Drink from 2025. *Cellar Selection* (RV)
A brooding and taciturn nose speaks of very ripe black berry, plum and warm earth scents that are trimmed in a subtle spice nuances. There is excellent volume and concentration to the big-bodied, intense and overtly muscular flavors that possess a velvety mid-palate that contrasts with the markedly austere, backward and very much built-to-age finish. This is borderline old school as the rusticity isn’t subtle yet it’s not so pronounced as to make this tough or chewy. Patience definitely would be advised.
Notes of sappy red and black cherry, coniferous forest floor, chocolate and spicy new oak. The palate is rich, ripe and juicy, with a supple chassis of tannins, good acids, and a generous personality.Drinking Window 2023 - 2045.(WK)
