The 2015 Chardonnay Estate is laced with the essence of slate, stone fruit, mint and white pepper. Bright, sculpted and nuanced, the 2015 screams with class. The 2015 deftly manages to be rich and intense, but not at all heavy. A hint of reduction adds nuance without being overpowering. These are the finest wines I have tasted from the Peay family. Quality is high across the board. This year, Peay is releasing an upper tier Chardonnay and Pinot, both named Elanus. The best of the Elanues series wines are terrific, but this year what impressed me most was the consistency of the entire Peay range. (AG)
