The 2012 Bourgogne Rouge comes from several parcels from old vines in the Vosne-Romanee appellation. Raised in 30% new oak, the wood dominates the aromatics at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Plenty of dark cherry and mulberry fruit abound, with a soft landing on the spice-tinged finish. This has more rondeur than other entry-level Burgundy reds this year and should drink well for 3-5 years. (NM)
The 2012 Bourgogne is soft, supple and very nicely balanced. Red stone fruits, cinnamon and a hint of new leather grace the palate in a juicy, generous Bourgogne to drink upon release while the fruit retains its vibrancy. (AG)
