As to the 2015s, the largest production effort is the 2015 Saint Joseph Silice, a classic, elegant St Joseph that’s well worth seeking out. Blackberries, leafy herbs, pepper and violet notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated Syrah that has fine tannin and good acidity. I suspect it's going to be a seriously good value.
The 2015 Saint Joseph Silice outperforms its entry-level status, offering up hints of wet stone and a whirl of mixed red and black cherries. Medium to full-bodied, it’s creamy and plush on the palate, firming up just enough on the long finish. It should drink well for a decade. (JC)
(aged in used barriques for 15 months) Brilliant ruby. Bright and energetic on the perfumed nose, displaying an array of dark fruit and floral scents that pick up mineral and spice accents with air. Juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show very good clarity and vivacious character thanks to a core of zesty acidity. In a lively style for a ripe vintage. Finishes gently sweet and long, with supple tannins coming in late. (JR)
