This 1997 Muscadet from Domaine Des Chaboissières has aged unbelievably well. A deep clear gold hue, the wine offers clean aromas of Marcona almond, seared tangerine and lemon peel, and briny mineral. The palate is medium bodied, but very concentrated, having retained bright acidity. Very mineral driven, there is a strong saline component, and a remarkable clarity and freshness to this wine, especially given the age. It is highly unusual to find an aged Muscadet of this caliber outside of a knowledgeable collector's cellar, and because this is a direct K and L import, it is a great and rare value.
