Incredible Chenin Blanc from Baja, Mexico. Although not super "traditional" as far as Chenin Blanc goes, this bottling still shows plenty of juicy pear and honey, while offering rather unusual qualities including surprising notes of red berries like strawberry and cranberry (very uncommon in white wine). Pretty floral accents never threaten to dominate, avoiding the dreaded "perfumy" descriptor. The acidic cut and refreshingly dry minerality close out the palate. Unfortunately, too many people will pass this by simply because its Mexican. They do not know what they're missing.
