Yellow citrus married with some exotic hints of mango. Pure, tensile and edgy with bright acids and good grip on the moderate finish.
Bringing together old vines from a number of the Chablisienne cooperative's vineyards, this wine is concentrated and finely structured. Its rich creamed apple and tangy orange zest flavors are lit by acidity and a mineral edge. Drink from 2018. (RV)
From 50+ year old vines that see 18 months of élevage. There is loads of Chablis character to the citrus and green fruit suffused nose that leads to solidly concentrated flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the minerally finish. This is classic Chablis in style and should age well over the short to medium-term. *Outstanding*
The 2014 Chablis les Venerables Vieilles Vignes comes from 50-year-old vines. It was showing a pleasant reduction on the nose. It works well here and does not obscure tension and typicité. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with hints of mandarin and citrus lemon. The wine is harmonious and well balanced with a touch of white peach enhancing the finish. Enjoy this over the next 5-7 years. (NM)
