Stephan Reinhardt of The Wine Advocate writes: "Zehnthof Luckert in Sulzfeld has been one of the leading wine producers in the region for many years. The vineyards of the Luckert family might not be located in the most famous sites of the not really world famous wine region around Würzburg, but the wines that Wolfgang and his younger brother Ulrich are producing are remarkable Frankenweine. The organic farmed vineyards are on limestone soils of the Muschelkalk period of the German trias. The fermentations in traditional Stück and Doppelstück barrels are with indigenous yeasts and the aging on the lees is until March for the basic wines and July for the single vineyard wines. The 2015 vintage was pretty dramatic in Franken, since the already dry region became a desert in the summer of 2015. The must weights exploded during the beautiful autumn and the family and the harvest team picked their 16 hectares in only three weeks and rarely below 100° Oechsle for the best wines."
