The heavy bottle of the light Rosé 2011 MM de Loxarel came gushing out with violence when I uncorked it. It is a very pale blend of Xarello with 40% Pinot Noir that matured in bottle with the lees no less than 42 months. This time they told me it was white, but I'd say it's still a Rosé. But what really matters is that it's a very nice sparkling wine with more complexity provided by the extended contact with the lees. Decayed roses, freshly baked brioche and hints of mushrooms and forest floor are detectable in the nose. The palate is silky and it fills your mouth with a texture provided by abundant, albeit very small and integrated bubbles. Tasty, fresh and complex. Super. 5,000 bottles produced.
