The 2016 Chablis Villages comes from 47-year-old vines and spent ten months in stainless steel tank. It has a straightforward, slightly tertiary bouquet that feels broody at first, but it opens a little in the glass. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, simple citrus fruit with a touch of lemon rind and a pleasant bitter tang on the economical finish. It just does its job with minimum fuss.
