Winemaker's Notes: "A blend of Semillon and chardonnay, this fruit was hand harvested, whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented in a mixture of concrete eggs, large format french oak and stainless steel. Kept on lees until just prior to bottling. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, no additives only a minimal sulphur addition at bottling." 90 points Wine Front: "Spicy kind of intro to this wine - gets you worked up for the hit of lemony, green apple-driven flavours that follow. Very crispy in texture with a kind of wild, loose-knit feel. So refreshing, more so for that brisk, saline tang that follows. Whip that palate clean. Zing, crunch. Super. Chardonnay and semillon seem to be easy bedfellows, particularly for early complexity for ready consumption and interest. Semillon is fermented in concrete eggs and hand-harvested from the Si home block, chardonnay from a vineyard managed by Iwo and Sarah of Si."
