Palmer Stone is a joint effort from a good group of friends in the hospitality industry, which include honored wine maker, Jim Palmer of Malibu Vineyards. Their first release from 2014 is a California blend of grapes primarily from Lodi and Paso Robles. The blend is 75 % Zinfandel, 10% Syrah, 10% Alicante Bouschet and 5% Petite Sirah. Aromas of black cherry and plum really jump from the glass here. Hints of oak and vanilla are followed by a velvety palate with hints of anise, dark cocoa powder and roasted sage.
