The 2014 Lanessan is gorgeous. Wild cherry, herb and tobacco give the wine its distinctive savory aromatic profile, while firm tannins add energy. The result is a touch rustic, but it is also immensely pleasing. There is lovely depth in the glass, although the 2014 appears to have shut down a bit post-bottling. (AG)
The Château Lanessan 2014 has an unusually high-toned bouquet with blackberry and iodine aromas, Margaux-like in style, with a pinch of cedar and black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little pinched at the moment but this Lanessan should mellow and gain weight by the time bottling. Classic, reserved with a graphite aftertaste - those that appreciate the style of Lanessan will appreciate their 2014. (NM)
