The 2014 Bourgogne Blanc, which the final blend spent five months in vat, has an elegant bouquet with touches of limestone and dewy green apples, sedate and nicely focused. The palate is well balanced with green apple and freshly sliced pear, showing fine transparency and tension on the elegant finish. This is as good a Bourgogne Blanc as you will find. (NM)
Mild reduction is enough to shave the top notes from the floral and white orchard fruit scents. Otherwise there is both good volume and richness to the medium-bodied flavors that possess slightly better depth and length than is typical for the appellation. Worth considering. *Outstanding*
The 2014 Bourgogne Blanc was showing very well, particularly for having been bottled a month prior to my visit. The nose wafts from the glass in a very pretty blend of pear, apple, chalky soil tones, a touch of nuttiness and a nice topnote of fresh lime. On the palate the wine is medium-full, crisp and well-balanced, with a good core, bright acids and fine length and grip on the stylish finish. This will be a lovely middleweight. Drink now-2025.
13 parcels all over village. Three cuves assembled. Diam. Racked 10 August. Rich nose. Bright fruit and very chiselled. Very nervy. Very bright. (JR)
