(31% new French oak) Bright red. Heady cherry and red berry scents show excellent clarity and pick up hints of smoky minerals, succulent herbs and candied flowers with air. Sappy, incisive black raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors show very good clarity and develop a sweet hint of vanilla on the back half. Powerful yet lithe, showing firm closing bite and lingering rose and allspice qualities. (JR)
The 2015 Bishop's Peak Pinot Noir displays a pale to medium ruby-purple color and notes of kirsch, cranberry sauce and raspberry tart with a waft of underbrush. Medium-bodied and giving a great intensity of red berry preserves and earthy flavors, it has a chewy texture and refreshing finish. Great value! (LPB)
