Produced by the Bibich Winery in Skradin, Croatia, this white wine offers an eclectic blend of grapes native to Northern Dalmatia (primarily Debit, Posip, and Marastina). It harkens back to an Old World style before the age of refrigeration and stainless steel in the cellar in which the wine is allowed to subtly oxidize in its oak barrels. The nose of the wine shows an expectedly sherried characteristic with buttery shades of hazelnut and Mediterranean herbs. However the palate strikes a contrast of distinctive brightness and spicy tones from nicely integrated use of new and used American oak barrels.
