La Tour Blanche was established in the 18th century. The microclimate where the Garonne river meets the Ciron is ideal for the development of botrytis, the noble rot. The original owner, lacking an heir, gave the estate to the French state on the condition that they build a wine school on site. La Tour Blanche School of Viticulture and Enology was created in 1911 and still operates today. Annual production averages around 45,000 bottles.
