A very ripe but not surmature nose displays pretty and solidly complex white peach, apricot and mango aromas. There is excellent volume to the mouth coating, textured and seductive flavors that benefit from the presence of an abundance of dry extract before terminating in an equally complex, bone dry, focused and impressively long finish. This is potentially an outstanding villages. *Outstanding*
Colin-Morey’s 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Encégnières captures the best elements of the vintage. It is at once intense yet weightless, with a cool minerality that is presently keeping the fruit from being fully expressive. In another year or two the Encégnières should begin to blossom. (AG)
Pure but closed on the nose. Juicy and very tightly wound, with a slightly tart character to the flavors of lemon and Key Lime pie. Strong but integrated acidity. This was bottled just a month before my visit, whereas the Saint-Aubin wines have been in bottle since last November. (ST) 91+?
Relatively rich nose and then sculpted sharpness on the palate. Still quite floral and creamy and plump. Chewy finish.
