The bouquet has a quiver of citrus, lemongrass and talc, the palate firing its arrows with prefect precision, filling the senses with Meyer lemon juice and crisp acidity. The wine is open for business but also has a great future.
Looking like it has all the ingredients to develop well, the 2017 Semillon features cut grass and lime notes upfront, followed by a light-bodied wine that is nevertheless intensely flavorful and fresh, finishing on a long, zesty, mouth-puckering note. You can drink it now with oysters but I'm confident it will blossom into a vastly different wine in five or more years. (JC)
