Reduction presently masks the fruit but there is both good volume and verve to the delicious middle weight flavors that are shaped by firm and mildly rustic tannins on the solidly complex and persistent finish. This is a high quality Bourgogne that is built-to-age at least for the short to medium-term and will need at least a few years. *Outstanding*
The 2015 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, which was bottled in February 2017, has quite a precocious bouquet for a generic Burgundy with ample red berry fruit. The palate is well balanced with succulent blackcurrant and raspberry. It feels stocky and structured towards the finish, a bold generic red Burgundy that should age better than many of its peers. Healthy bright red. Expressive aromas of black cherry, licorice and violet. Juicy and vivacious, showing classic Gevrey aromas of purple fruits, licorice and game. Finishes with very good length. Should make a terrific Bourgogne Rouge. (ST)
