One notable Hawkes Bay wine is the spicy 2014 Trinity Hill Pinot Noir Hawkes Bay (90 points, SRP $17), with accents of fresh tomato leaf to the crisp wild berry-flavored core. Winemaker Warren Gibson points to a blend of different clones and the use of partial whole-bunch fermentation as a way of getting complexity without extensive barrel aging.
