Incorporating 15% Roussanne, the Marsanne dominated 2016 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe Blanc spent 10 months in barrel before bottling. Its medium gold color is followed by a terrific bouquet of buttered pineapple, citrus blossom and honeysuckle. Clean, pure and beautifully balanced, with good acidity and ample density and texture, it's a big step up over the base cuvée.
Barrel-fermented in 40% new oak, the 2016 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvee Christophe Blanc is a blend of 85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne. It smells of singed marshmallow, which gives way to melon and pineapple flavors on the medium to full-bodied palate. There’s a nice leesy richness to the plump, appealing mouthfeel, lingering on the finish. (JC)
Limpid gold. Aromas of fresh tropical and pit fruits, along with suave floral and mineral qualities that gain strength as the wine stretches out. Concentrated yet lively in character, offering juicy nectarine, mango and Meyer lemon flavors that tighten up and take on a subtle vanilla nuance with air. Delivers strong thrust, impressive energy and a touch of honeysuckle on the long, smooth, smoke-tinged finish. (JR)
Engaging, with a thread of fresh acidity that adds energy to the mix of brioche, creamed melon, lemon curd and white peach flavors. Rich finish. (JM)
