The 2015 Chambolle Musigny Village contains around 5% whole bunch fruit. It has an understated bouquet at first, needing just a few swirls of the glass to reveal red cherry and cranberry nose with purity rather than power. The palate is very well balanced with crunchy red fruit, wonderful acidity, fresh and with a touch on confit fruit on the engaging finish. What a delicious village cru this will grow up to be.(NM)
This is exuberantly fresh with its pretty array on the nose that is composed by notes of both red and dark pinot fruit, floral and tea aromas. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the mineral-inflected, refined and lacy medium weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced and beautifully persistent finale. This is very Chambolle in basic character.
(vinified with 25% whole clusters): Deep, dark red. Black raspberry, blueberry and smoky soil tones on the nose. Silky and fairly full for village wine, with raspberry and strawberry flavors lifted by a touch of minerality. Not a particularly high-pitched Chambolle but offers attractive texture and finishes with very suave tannins.(ST)
Charming nose of pure red fruits and mint. Lean and precise, pretty but not superficial, with a sleek texture and considerable concentration. Shows charm and elegance with a long, lifted finish. Drinking Window 2017 - 2024.(SB)
The 2015 Chambolle AC from Domaine Roumier is quite ripe on both the nose and palate, or at least was showing in this manner at the time of my visit. The bouquet is a mix of baked red and black cherries, gamebird, a good dollop of minerality, roses and raw cocoa. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows plenty of depth at the core, with moderate tannins and just a touch of backend heat warming up the long finish. 2023-2055.
