The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Bancroft Ranch exhibits an opaque black/purple color, and stunning aromatics consisting of minerals, blueberries, blackberries, and cassis. Terrific in the mouth, it offers full body, a racy, chewy texture, high tannin, but wonderful sweetness and balance. It was impressive and flamboyant when I tasted it in September. (RP)
Impressive for its richness, depth and concentration, as well as its elegance and finesse, with layers of sweet currant, black cherry, anise and sage. The tannins have a rich minerally edge yet they're well-integrated. (JS, Web-2005)
Deep, saturated ruby-red. Pungent black fruit and mineral nose. Gives an impression of strong extract but is currently painfully backward and much harder to taste than the '94. Tannins are quite pronounced today: this wine may not have quite the supporting material as some of Beringer other top '95 reds. Will require another look in a year or two. (ST) 90+
