The 1993 Gigondas should turn out to be nearly outstanding, although I cannot see it equaling the quality of proprietor Faraud's 1988, 1989, 1990, or 1995. The 1993 exhibits a saturated black/purple color, highly extracted, earthy, truffle-like, roasted herb and black-cherry-scented nose, rich, concentrated fruit, super length and ripeness, and a lush texture.
