The 2012 Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard is old-vine Mourvèdre from Morgan Peterson’s home vineyard in Sonoma. It is Mediterranean in style with notes of lavender, raspberry, blueberry, roasted Provençal herbs and loamy soil undertones. The wine is rich, medium to full-bodied, already meaty, complex and spicy. It was aged in neutral oak prior to being bottled unfiltered. (RP)
Blends a touch of the Rhône's classic gaminess with rich California fruit. Aromas of raspberry, smoke and new leather lead to racy flavors of dark plum, bitter chocolate and anise. Ripe tannins arrive on the finish. (TF)
