Impressive lemon and grapefruit citrus ahead of lightly chalky elements. The palate has crunchy appeal with smooth, stony phenolics. Excellent drink now style.
A year fresher, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Blanc is crisper and more linear than the 2015 but shows similar orange and lime flavors, with a hint of anise as well. It should be consumed over the next year or two.(JC)
Bright verbena, green fig, pear and yellow apple notes are all in the mix here, with light lemon shortbread and salted butter accents gilding the finish. Drink now through 2019.
Made from Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Viognier, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a classic white from a great producer. Pear, citrus, white flowers and hints of tangerine give way to a medium-bodied, supple, beautifully layered and pretty wine that's as drinkable as they come.
