The 2015 Laventura Viura is mostly Viura from old vines with a 5% blend of other white varieties. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in 600-liter oak barrels for 12 months with the lees. The grapes were sourced from Villabuena in the Rioja Alavesa. It's balanced and elegant, in the house style, clean and precise without any excess. It also has well-integrated oak and perfect ripeness; it turns more balsamic with time in the glass. The varietal line keeps the Laventura brand, and the wines show good typicity. (LG)
