What...a 9 year old, single cask, full proof, sherried single malt under $50!? You're kidding me right? Nope. This is the real deal. A dark, rich malt with notes of burnt caramel, glazed apple, spice cake, coffee and savory, rancio sherry notes. This is not a sweet fruity, sherried whisky; it shows more of the oxidative, nutty, saline sherry components rather than sweet fruit. It's way more complex and "umami" than one might expect from bottle of this price point. I don't know how our boys keep digging up these casks but long may it last!
