The first vintage for this re-branded, mid-level Ponzi Pinot is a doozy. Lovely aromatics offer a plush potpourri of plum, blueberry and cherry fruit, along with hints of curry, chocolate and hickory chips. Flavors are nicely entwined, round and full bodied, with a streak of root beer. This is ready to enjoy now and over the next couple of years. *Editors' Choice* (PG)
Lovely aromas of dark fruits, flowers and hints of rosemary. Medium body, light tannins and a fruity and fresh finish. Delicate wine.
Vivid red. Deep-pitched cherry and floral scents, along with hints of succulent herbs and white pepper. Fleshy and concentrated, offering bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors and a hint of dark chocolate. A substantial yet energetic Pinot that finishes with excellent clarity, building sweetness and just a whisper of dusty tannins. (JR)
Fresh and vital, focusing the black cherry, lime and spice flavors into a spotlight that glows through the generous, expressive finish. Drink now through 2021. (HS)
The 2014 Pinot Noir Classico is sourced from eleven different vintages and was completely destemmed and aged 11 months in 35% new French oak. It’s an attractive, enjoyable Pinot Noir offering notes of ripe darker cherries, wood smoke, and autumn leaves/forest floor. Drink this medium-bodied charmer over the coming 4-5 years.
