Deep vivid ruby. Vibrant aromas of black raspberry, cherry cola and violet pick up allspice and licorice nuances with air. Juicy, concentrated and subtly sweet, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavors that become deeper and sweeter with air. The floral note comes back strongly on the impressively long finish, which features sneaky tannins, lingering spiciness and a touch of vanilla.(JR)
Blackberry and blueberry aromas of wet leaves, stones and caramel. Full body, round and chewy tannins and a long finish. Extracted. Needs time to soften.
Owned by Beaune merchant Louis Jadot, this cru estate produces some impressive wines. While its alcohol is excessive for a Beaujolais, it wears its power well. The black plum fruit and tannins from wood aging that are still very present will soften over the next year to give a rich generous wine with a style that is Burgundian rather than traditional Beaujolais. Drink from 2018.
A rich, concentrated style, displaying blackberry compote, dark chocolate and plum sauce flavors, edged with sweet spice and smoky details. Firm, integrated tannins and solid acidity lend ample structure through the licorice-tinged finish. Drink now through 2025.
A concentrated and complex style with textured dark fruit embellished by earthy and smoky oak characters, whilst refreshed by bright acidity. Ageing potential here.Drinking Window 2018 - 2022
