The 2006 Barolo Margheria shows lovely density and richness in a mid-weight style. This is a refined expression of Serralunga. Bright red fruits, spices and violets are some of the nuances that emerge from the glass, followed by darker cherries, flowers and minerals that develop with air. The finish is elegant and long, while the tannins reveal considerable finesse. All in all, this is a winner from Massolino. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031. (AG)
A dark, brooding style, featuring blackberry, black currant, violet and iron aromas and flavors. This is encased in stiff, dusty tannins right now, but there's fine purity of fruit and sweetness at its core, so be patient. Best from 2014 through 2035. (BS, Web Only-2011)
Nice aromas of citrus and dried red fruits. Full-bodied, chewy, with some nice tannins. A muscular wine in a different style. Just as good as his other wines but a little different. Check back after 2016.
