From the winery: "February 25, 2008 - As this vineyard on the lower slopes of Mt. Veeder matures, we find more intensity in the resulting wines. This site, although small, has some of the most diverse ripening characteristics of in the Neal Family Cabernet. We separate the clonal selections as well as the hillside differences, giving us the range in maturity from early September to almost mid-October. A rich, ripe, complex nose of fruit and almost Syrah-like fruit, along with lovely vanilla toast, nutmeg, leathery & berry fruit. This year we found it to have a very big, broad mouth, with a rich, mouth-coating texture, velvety & firm tannins. Full of very dark cherry fruit, cassis and violets, finishing with well integrated oak, big tannins and a mouth-watering finish."
