Lamy’s Haute Densité is an appreciable step up over the very creditable regular cuvée. Indeed, it’s hard to think of a superior village Puligny. A reserved nose of lemon oil, noble reduction, citrus pith and chalky soil tones is subtly framed by new oak, leading into a full-bodied, multidimensional and complete palate with almost electric levels of energy. It has superb depth, with chewy levels of extract and concentration, and a long, lingering finish. This surpasses many premiers crus in quality.Drinking Window 2023 - 2040.(WK)
Pale lemon-yellow. Rather forbidding scents of lemon, crushed rock and spices. Displays almost painful citric cut in the mouth, along with a wild metallic quality, a saline component and a leathery nuance. The penetrating citrus and stone finish displays terrific grip and saline persistence. Another remarkable village wine in the making. Lamy noted that these densely planted vines produced a higher yield than usual, but still only 30 hectoliters per hectare.(ST)
